Where the difference shows
Live traffic over an area
At $0.05 for each result set of up to 15 aircraft, a display that searches an area every 10 seconds and gets one set back makes about 259,000 searches a month — close to $13,000 at list price, before volume discounts. On Flight Data the same area is pushed to you every 5 seconds on Hobby, for €5 a month.
A predictable bill
Flight Data plans are flat: a daily number of calls, a number of live areas and a cadence. Nothing is metered per record, so a busy hour over a hub costs what a quiet one does.
When AeroAPI is the better choice
- You need schedules, flight status or delays. AeroAPI is built around flights as an airline publishes them; Flight Data observes what aircraft actually do and carries no times.
- You need aircraft we cannot hear. Flight Data comes from ground receivers — around 6,000 aircraft at any moment, densest over Europe, with no satellite and no MLAT.
- You need it today. Flight Data is opening from its waitlist.
Early means three months free.
Waitlist offer: three months free with yearly billing, and 10 % off Developer or 20 % off Pro for as long as you keep the plan.
